Skopelos is the greenest island in the Sporades group — densely forested with pine, olive, and plum trees, with a main town that tumbles dramatically from a hilltop citadel down to the harbour. The accommodation stock is modest in scale: family-run guesthouses, apartments, and a handful of proper hotels. There are no large resorts in the Mykonos sense, and the overall feel is relaxed and low-key. All prices are approximate peak-season rates as of 2026.
Skopelos Town (Hora)
The main town is the hub for almost everything: ferries, restaurants, the evening waterfront promenade, and the network of small beaches accessible by bus. Most visitors choose to base here. The old town rises steeply above the harbour — the upper parts have 360-degree views and near-total quiet at night.

Archontiko Apartments — A restored captain’s house converted into studios and apartments, in the old quarter of town. Stone walls, wooden ceilings, and genuine character. From approximately €100–140 per night in peak season.
Studios above the port — A number of family-run studio operations cluster just above and behind the waterfront. Quality varies; most are clean and functional. Panormos
A small bay on the west coast, roughly 15km north of Skopelos Town. One of the island’s better swimming beaches — a mix of pebble and coarse sand, with remarkably clear water. Quieter than the main town, with a handful of tavernas and one standout hotel.
Adrina Beach Hotel — The island’s most polished hotel, occupying a clifftop above Panormos bay. Forty rooms and suites with sea-view balconies, two pools, a restaurant, and a private boat jetty. Glossa
The island’s second village, perched on a hillside above the north of the island. Traditional architecture, far fewer tourists than Skopelos Town, and a noticeably slower pace. Accommodation is limited to small guesthouses and rooms-to-rent; it does not have a hotel in the conventional sense.
Rooms in Glossa — A handful of family-run operations in the village. Stone-built rooms, simple facilities, authentic atmosphere. From approximately €55–75 per night in peak season. Most book by direct message or phone rather than through platforms.
Loutraki (Port of Glossa)
The small port at the base of Glossa hill, where ferries to Skiathos and the mainland call. One or two tavernas and a few studio operations. Convenient if you’re arriving or leaving from this port, otherwise there’s little reason to stay.
